I've had "some" echos on my GAIT plan 6340i's ever since the GSM system
went live in DFW but in the last few weeks it has gotten much worse. At
least 2/3 of the calls now have echos varing from minor to basically
full volume echos of everything I say. Has anyone else noticed an
increase? Others have reported it's also affecting GSM-only phones so
moving the sim to one of those wouldn't help. Anyone know if it's being
addressed by Cingular? Any other ideas? Is there something that can be
changed, on the phone or on the account, to reduce the problem?

    Re: GSM echos getting worse?

That's one of the main issues why I cancelled my Nation Plan w/ 6340i after
my SIM card self-destructed. I paid the $150 ETF versus $450 to contract
end. A GSM-only phone is useless for me going over the road in my 18
wheeler. The echoes on the 850mhz changeover systems were getting
ridiculous on incoming calls. I kept my Nokia 3588i on SprintPCS F & C
America plan, upped the mins. and have never had the echo problem since
    1998.
