Hi there -
This is probably a stupid, often asked question. Is there any way to
make the sending of text messages easier? Right now I have to push
down on the joystick to get to the phonebook, scroll to the name of
the person, push in on the joystick, scroll to the cellular number for
the person, selct more, then scroll down to send text message.
Please, please, tell me there is an easier way...
Also, when I unlock the phone, through the *, Unlock, * sequence, it
puts a * on the screen after unlocked that I have to clear away.
Anyway around this?
Thanks,
--Dan

Hey Dan,
Try hitting left on the joystick and it'll go straight into the text editor,
from there you'll still have to either enter the number or search for it
afterwards though.

Usually I just hit Unlock, * and skip the first * that you said pressed.

Hope that helps,

You can set the phone up so that the left joystick action opens a new text
message, but no matter what you do, you will still have to either enter or
search for the number. Or simply go to the menu and press the envelope (or
number 5) to enter the messaging area. To set up the phone so that joystick
left opens a new text message, it must be the first shortcut listed in your
"my shortcuts".

The only thing I can figure is that you are pressing *, menu, * to lock it
also. You do not press a * first. By doing that when the phone is unlocked,
you are putting the * on the screen. When you unlock the phone by pressing
unlock, * (or *, unlock, * .. even though the first * is doing nothing), the
star you pressed unnecessarily to lock the phone is still present.

Re: T616 Questions
Ha ha ha ha ha! Thanks to you both! I was doing the below described
actions. How dumb am I? I am so used to the LG interface that the T616
is completely foreign. I am slowly getting as adept with it as I was
with the old phones and definitely love the phone.
Thanks again to everyone for helping me see the light!
