Phone wouldn't call, just beeps

Wasn't sure what to put in the subject...yesterday I was in Tampa,
Florida, on the USF campus. When I tried to call any of the phone
numbers to the Hope Lodge I would get a couple beeps, and then the
call would end, and the phone would be back to the main screen. I
tried multiple numbers for that building, with the same results, but I
could call the Moffit cancer center, which is right next door, and my
brother across the country.

Now, once I got home (3 hours from Tampa), I shut the phone off, and
turned it back on today, and it would place these calls.

Any idea whats going on? did the phone just need a reboot for some
reason? It just seemed odd that it was only numbers in the one
building.

FYI, its a 6340i, and I have a nation plan.

sounds like the cell system is messed up. I had a simalar problem.
The pay phones at the Raleigh/Durham airport would not call my cell
phone. I reported to Cingular, and it took them a while to fix the
problem

Maybe the phone system in the Hope Lodge was down?

My first thought too, when I got back to the lodge, I had them check.
They could dial in on their cell phones(not sure of the carrier), but
not on mine.
