Actually you do, just not as you expect, as you would know if you'd taken the
time to read my posts more carefully:

Cingular subscribers with standard handsets only roam on ATTWS when
there is no usable Cingular signal even when the ATTWS signal is much
better, and vice versa. Until the two networks are truly merged,
which will undoubtedly take some time, this issue can only be
overcome with a Cingular-branded handset and new SIM that support
ENS, which addresses this issue by combining the two physical
    networks into one virtual network.

Thats true, I was on when they switched from pacbell to cingular. I used
them down here, and a bit up in the bay area and had problems.

I'm still a little hesitant to try them again, but I dont see any better
options. Obviously I can't stay with verizon if I'm getting this many
dropped calls. I prefer GSM, so that limits me to T-mobile or Cingular.
Cingular is bigger than T-mobile so I think they are my best bet.

Depends if you use Native towers or roaming.

Using Native towers I've seen it be less than an hour behind, roaming
(like in New York City)( aka Cingular Extended for FREE on National
plan), I've seen it be days behind.
