I recently migrated to Cingular. They say that the codes to check your
minutes or balance are free (including no text message charge for the
response, I assume). Are calls to check your voicemail or calls to the
Customer Service # also free or do they come out my minutes?

    * services are no additional cost.

    weekends.

Name the plan available now that does not offer N&W through Cingular
    Wireless.

My own plan (promotional 1000 anytime minutes for $40/mo) has no N&W minutes.
Whether it's available now or not (it's not) is irrelevant to those that have
    such plans.

This is true and since it hasn't been available since Nov. 15th I didn't
even have it on the radar.

So your one of the 20 people who bought that plan huh?

It was a big hit here in Northern California at least.

    Are you kidding me?

That plan was tremendously popular, not only for grabbing people from
other cellular carriers, but also as far as existing customers switching
    to it from other plans.

At least four people off of the top of my head I knew of jumped on it --
mostly those on local plans with the same or less minutes per month who
got severly DINGED with roaming charges when they went on vacations out of
their local area. To those people 1000 anytime minutes made more sense
than plans with unlimited N/W or MTM, because they looked at their bill
and they always made, on average, <1000 minutes/month.

And it should come as no big surprise. You got nationwide access to
Cingular's (and its roaming partners) GSM network, no roaming charges,
1000 anytime rollover minutes/month for dirt cheap $40/month.

Look at what Verizon's NSR would cost you for an equivalent plan -- 900
minutes is $100/month and there's no rollover.

And even with Cingular now, if you want the equivalent amount of ANYTIME
no-roaming rollover minutes, you are looking at $60/month for a bit less
than 1000 and $80/month for a bit more than 1000 minutes.

Oh, one last thought, with nearly 5K of rollover minutes banked up as of
now, I never worry about making a cellphone call because of cost and I
don't forsee when I will ever need to change from this plan.

    I have the nation 250 minutes for $29.95 and get 1000 N&W.

That promotion brought alot of people into our store. Which is great.
Unfortunately our store is near a University and those kids live on their
phones 24/7. The other half of our business comes from the national
headquarters of USAA. Again these people were excited about the promotion
until they heard there was no N&W. People also weren't too fond of the no FT
    option.

I personally think it was a great plan for a young, single, entrepreneuer,
making the majority of his calls during daytime business hours.
