downloading voice mail messages?

I have a somewhat unusual question. I have a bunch of messages on my
voicemail that I would like to save permanently. I'm thinking the best way
to do this to figure out a way to transfer/download/something them to my
computer. Does anyone know of a way to do that? I know it's an odd
request, but I would appreciate any ideas on how to best do this. Thanks!

Be aware of any legal implications that may exist in your locality. One
possibility might be record the voicemail while it is playing, and
transfer the recorded file to your computer. Of course, that would
depend on your phone. Another possibility is to use a microphone on the
computer to record the voicemail while it is playing. While the latter
option may not have good quality, it would get the job done.
