If I have ATTWS TDMA and want to switch to GSM, but i buy my phone on
my own, how do I get Cingular to send me a SIM card that works with my
old TDMA number but now GSM bill? (I have another GSM phone and wish
    to combine billing)

Why would you give up the opportunity to get your phone cheaper? If your
going for monthly service contract, over pay as you go. You have to contact
Cingular to switch from TDMA to GSM. You would have to buy a SIM too! Then
have Cingular program it with your old number etc. you can't take your old
contract stuff with you as your GSM, the golden period was a year ago when
AWS gave away the store compared to now. Going thru Letstalk.com I got $100
back per phone after rebates, 950 National anytime minutes, free incoming
messages, free N & W, free M2M, and four phones for $69.95 per month. Try
Amazon.com they seem to be giving the most money back these days.

Best advice, I would drop the TDMA line and add one under your GSM contract
($9.95), they should move your number no problem. Try to get free anytime
minutes (I got 600 from AWS back when, took 3 CSR's!) for being a loyal
    customer.
