    It depends on the area. Cingular uses GSM in the 850 and 1900 mHz
    ranges. If you are in a market where GSM is only available in 850 mHz,
    the phone will not work. However, if you are in a market where 1900 is
    available, it will work.

    No, 900 is a frequency band in the rest of the world but not the USA.
    However the 1900 band is a US band. So to the extent that 1900 IS a US band,
    so it will work where there is 1900MHz available.
