What freakin idiot made this decision?

Verizon gives *TWO* lines for $59.99 then $9.99 each additional.

Cingular ups it to ONE line for $69.99 just to get additional lines for $9.99

How could a person or persons in a position of such authority make such a
moronic decision??? Who the hell ever heard of increasing your prices
while your direct competitor DECREASES theirs?

    Nick,
The bean counters told the marketing depatrtment they need to start
whittling down that $40 Billion AT&T Wireless debt. If the price increase
doesn't scare customers away from the stores, it will be a good
decision...for Cingular. Fortunately, consumers aren't stupid. So, when
the Cingular sales people end up playing cards with each other, Cingular
will figure out they'll need to change something. Prices? Hmmmm.

Cingular can give you two lines for 59.98 per month with 50 minutes less
than Verizon's 500 and Cingular has rollover(not available on VZW) and a
    bigger M2M calling area.

Well, pretty much everyone is a consumer. And some people are stupid. Some
are smart. Some are lazy. You can't reach a rational conclusion starting
    with your flawed assumption.

    But then they're not shared minutes, and a third line would be $19.99;
the Verizon $59.99 is shared, is 50 more minutes and a third line would
    be $9.99

And lets not forget that rollover is for new customers not existing!

Depending upon market, you can get it. In my market, any out of
contract (or new customer prividing own equipment not wanting a
contract) can get any of the regular plans, but only contract customers
will get the mobile-to-mobile minutes. This is in Orlando, Florida.

And if you were to add a third line its $19.99 with Cingular, and $9.99
    with Verizon.

The good news is Verizon is half the price - the bad news is you're on
    Verizon.
