Hi,
Is it possible to change the name on the account with Cingular? (My
phone has been under my dad's name and I figured I better finally put
it under my name.)
Also, I'm in the 22th month of my 2-yr contract and I'm eligible for an
upgrade, but I'm thinking I should wait a few months for perhaps a
better deal until I really need to use my phone in the fall before
upgrading. Is there a limit to how long I remain eligible?
I have a Nation GSM plan with 250 anytime and 5000 night/wkend for
$29.95 that I signed up for back in 2003, if I sign a new contract can
I keep this plan? (I don't see anything like it anymore in existence,
seems like plan rates have gone up quite a bit!)
Thanks, Sarmad.

Your existing service level will continue after your current contract
espires - they'll just convert it to a month-to-month account. You're
always eligible for an upgrade regardless.

If/when you sign a new contract, you'll have to choose from the plans
offered at the time of signing.

Re: Change name on account?
Order is everything: you are eligible for an upgrade AND you want the
account in your own name.
Do the upgrade first; after you get the new phone and put it on your line,
then put the line under your name. You will get the most value, and keep
your phone number. dr
If you are young and without credit history; you may be asked to pay a
deposit. This isn't just about name change on the account, it is a change
of financial responsibilty and they will run a credit check on you, and a
deposit may be required, or not. FYI.
