Can I connect to the internet using my Tungsten W and Cingular?

When I asked if my access included the ISP portion, the rep said that he wasn't
    sure what I was asking.

I left it that they were both my access and ISP for my GPRS connection to the
    Internet.

    Was I wrong?

If I can connect, How Do I setup?

They said I was good to go, how'a bout some instructions or settings?

I found only settings for the Treo 600, 650 which they sell, not the my model.

    TIA

I doubt you can. What type of device does Cingular have listed on your
account for use with this mobile number? They have developed a way to
restrict the ISP to regular handset usage (wap) so you cannot use your
mobile as an ISP for laptops, PDAs and the like, without paying for it.

you can pay for data usage as a full ISP if you call and add that feature to
your account. most parts of the country it is $74.99/mo. for unlimited.
still I am not sure if your device will work. Do you know if it is Sim
Locked? Does the Tungsten have voice capability? If so, does it work? If it
will work, get customer service to transfer you to tech support
(monday-friday business hours) and they will give you the settings you will
    need.

    Yes.

You don't need the ISP portion -- MEdia should work fine.

Cingular doesn't control what device a SIM can be used in. MEdia on a voice
account works fine in non-phone devices -- in addition to my phone, I use my
SIM with MEdia in a Sony Ericsson GC82 EDGE (EGPRS) PC Card plugged into my
    notebook computer -- no problemo.

No need for that -- MEdia works fine with non-phone devices.

    YES.

Do you merely need GPRS access, or do you need E-Mail through Cingular as well?
If you have a POP3/SMTP or IMAP server (e.g., gMail) for e-mail, you don't need
    anything but GPRS data service.

ISPs do a lot; provide e-mail service, USENET (dying off, sadly) and other
services. Likely, all you need is GPRS data service.

    >If I can connect, How Do I setup?

If you have GPRS data service, you go to Prefs and alter the Network and
Connection settings. Install your SIM card, turn on the phone, and try to
    connect.

    >They said I was good to go, how'a bout some instructions or settings?

That's what you pay them for.

    >I found only settings for the Treo 600, 650 which they sell, not the my model.

ATTWS sold it before. Push until you find a legacy tech who knows it.

Actually morphing from text to (mostly illicit) binaries -- overall traffic
continues to increase even though text traffic is declining.
