Hello. After some research, I'm still confused regarding the features
of the online services offered by Cingular. Although I've read here
that MediaWorks (or MediaNet??) is available for cell phone
subscribers on an unlimited basis, when I went to the Cingular website
all I found were Internet access plans that charged by the kB. Could
someone please provide clarifying information to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance.

The old MEdia Works Unlimited with unlimited data no longer exists.
Unlimited data is now called MEdia Net Unlimited.

The "Bundles", MediaBasic and MediaWorks, include some messages and some
data. Below that are the MediaNet plans that have data only, including
unlimited.
You cannot combine a bundle and a plan.
If you have MediaNet Unlimited, you can do messages pay-as-you-go, or you
can add a message plan.
There is also DataConnect, which is the set of plans targeted at business
and laptop users. This is currently $59.99 per month, unlimited

conversation about the subject. John currently uses a Motorola V551 phone
and a Sony GC82 PCCard.
A google search of this group

gprs data tether
gives 13 threads that might be helpful.

I'm not sure what "messages" are. I'm only interested in Internet
service.

I think that would be what I'm interested in, but I thought some
people were paying $19.99 per month for unlimited Internet service by
tethering their cell phone to their laptop.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'll go back to the Cingular website and
the Google sites to see if I can reconcile your post with what I'll
read there. Thanks again.
