Whatever your problem, John will reply to say he never had that trouble.
Unlimited data for a good price? He has it. Well, you can't buy it for
less than $59.99 if you're lucky, but he has it for a lot less. Dropped
calls? Not John. Billing issues? No, not that problem either. Long time
forum users sort of let him rant and leave him alone. Each group has one of
these participants. Just ignore him and move on with life.

Each group has one, and for a lot of them, he's the one.

I personally leave him alone because I finally had to killfile him, even
    though I once said I wouldn't. I just couldn't take it anymore. He's rude
and mostly negative, and hypocritical. Oh, yes; have a nice day, John.

Dude, that is called timing, and thinking ahead,
I have the same data plan that you accuse John of making up, and
I pay 19.99, have 1500 text messages, and *unlimited* data
transfer. I can tether my laptop all I want, and get speeds
equivilant to dial-up. It was available, and now it is not.
    Get over it.

I added Navas to the kill file a long time ago. Life has been much better
    since.

Please, give us a break. You spam the newsgroup trying to auction off your
phone and then want to whine about someone calling you on it? Get a clue.

John was the originator of alt.cellular.cingular. I don't know what
happened that he is the way he is now. A kill-file is partially
effective, though not everyone has learned to ignore them, so you'll
still see follow-ups to his posts. Even back in the early days of
Cingular GSM in California, when Cingular was simply horrid in terms of
dropped calls and coverage, and was incurring huge fines from the
California PUC, he was the only customer that never had a problem.

Don't forget his website, which is chock full o' information: some of
it accurate, some of it woefully out of date - and no indication as to
which is which. If you point out the errors to him, he arrogantly
refuses to correct the erroneous information.

This is akin to being lost and pulling up to ask John for directions
to, say, McDonald's. He'll happily give you directions to a McDonald's
location that closed down 5 years ago, then snicker as you drive away.

Where are your contributions? I'm even making it easy for you -- see below.

    >Don't you all know? If John Navas says it, then BY DEFINITION it's
    >correct.

Not so. I make mistakes just like anyone else, and I like to think I'm better
than most about admitting them. OTOH, I don't suffer fools gladly, and I'm
not going to join in on unfair flaming just to be popular.

I've now turned many of my own contributions into community resources so that
"helpful" folks like you two can do more than just criticize from the
sidelines -- you can easily get involved, fixing any real errors, and adding
    your own contributions:

    Cingular Wireless FAQ
    <http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cingular_Wireless_FAQ>

    Cingular Wireless MEdia Configuration
    <http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cingular_Wireless_MEdia_Configuration>

These are Wikibooks that *anyone* can edit and/or contribute to!
That means you! Let's see if you've got anthing more than criticism.

Care to point out more than one post in this newsgroup where you've done
that? In the three years I have read this group, you haven't admitted
mistake- you simply avoid the thread like the plague when cornered in your
    own misperceptions.

    >OTOH, I don't suffer fools gladly, and I'm
    > not going to join in on unfair flaming just to be popular.

You'd have to do much more than that to be popular here. Try postings facts
    instead of uninformed opinions.

The last time I posted previous to this last one it was a huge contribution-
in fact, most in that thread were. You chose to ignore them and attempted
to deflect the truth with nothing more than uniformed opinion. Why am I not
    surprised?

Why would I contribute to something that is created by such a closed mind?

Oh, I remember well. I thought his latest contention that they had a good
quarter, and the data that showed it to be far short of spectacular would be
enough to make him hibernate again. Instead he has chosen to ignore it.
    How sad.

How sad indeed, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, how clear it now is that you have
nothing constructive to contribute. Jealousy is a *****.

Move along folks. Nothing more to see here.
