V3 and bluetooth pairing

I'm having a world of trouble connecting my V3 to my mobile phone tools
(USB). Does anyone have any clues as to why my computer cannont 'find' my
phone? I'm running XP on a new HP computer.
My wireless earphone connects and works perfectly.
TIA,
Scout

I finally figured out how to use a USB Cable and mobile phone tools
with my V3. You can read up on the posts by BruceR, he has probably
helped someone else with this issue. My last post or two might also
carry some information that could be helpful to you.

The subject says bluetooth, the content says USB.

Both are covered on the BVRP.com forums.
They are both touchy about WinXP drivers being auto-installed.
USB (or the Bluetooth adapter if it's USB) should always be plugged in to
the same USB port, if your PC has more than one.

http://support.bvrp.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=2510 is a thread about USB
and the Razr. Same recurring theme, though. The drivers need to be loaded
"correctly", and some USB modem devices might need to be removed in device
manager.

Motorola V551 Bluetooth Mobile Phone tools
http://makeashorterlink.com/?W39E65F8B
is my story with a DLink-DBT-120.

Thanks, yes, the Bluetooth USB adapter is what I'm unable to get working.

Let me check it out. Is is anything like my nightmare with my D-Link
DBT-120? I finally got it all working after reading the D-Link tech
support pages for the DBT-120.

Yes, I wandered through the DLink pages as part of my journey.

Ultimately, both USB and Bluetooth connections seem to come down to the
same thing. WinXP loads the wrong drivers, sometimes even if you have
pre-loaded the software from the vendor.

Yep, that's exactly what's happening. How did you fix yours?

Right mouse on My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Mgr.

Open the Bluetooth item and right mouse on the Bluetooth and select
update drivers. Select Install from a specific location and then select
Don't search. Finally select your particular adapter.

And delete all the "extras". More than one modem that looks like it might
be the same thing, more than one port, more than one set of drivers.

It is in details in the thread I noted earlier.

And always plug your USB gadget into the same port on your PC>
