Does one have to stay in the 850mhz and up or can you go with any
unlocked Tri or Quad band phone as long as there unlocked?

Looking for something nice and not many bells and whistles.

    TIA

If its for Cingular it MUST have 850mhz or you will coverage problems in
    parts of the USA.
So you want 850/1900 at a minimum. Ideally quadband that has all the bands
    around the world.

Unlocked means you can take it overseas and put in a local SIM card for
cheaper roaming rates OR switch carriers later.
