I have just gotten a Cingular branded TREO 650 which came preloaded with
XPRESS and Versamail. Both appear to be email applications. I just set
up Versamail and it works very well. I don't know the technical/monetary
difference between these two and would appreciate any advice as to their
pros and cons. My plan is a standard Family plan with no special data
services included. Thanks for help, Tom

First of all I would recommend that you don't use either one of them if you
don't have a data plan. You could get some VERY large bills. That aside,
Xpressmail is Cingular's "upgraded" mail client. It lets you do a few
things that Versamail won't, mostly minor but convenient stuff none the
less. One neat feature of Xpress mail is the ability to look at most files
that are at home on the desktop computer through your Treo. Xpressmail
however requires the home computer to be on all the time with it's own
version of Xpressmail running all the time. That was a deal breaker for me
and gave me trouble keeping it configured right. I settled on Versamail for
greater stability and have been very satisfied with it. As I say though,
    get a data plan.
