The best solution is to circumvent the locked cingular phone. Just
buy your new V3 online unlocked then pop your sim into it and have a
great day. I know thats what I have. 2qwik

Keep in mind that when using an unlocked phone on Cingular's network the web
portion of the usually will not work.

The Web portion will work properly *if* the unlocked phone is configured
properly. See the FAQ below.
