I have a standard V3 from Cingular using MediaNet Unlim tethered via
Bluetooth to my laptop. If I upgrade on ebay to a V3x (the one with 3G
UTMS) and put my current SIM in the new phone will I automatically have
a UMTS unlimited laptop connection? Basically is the MediaNet Unlim the
same servers as the UMTS?

The V3X is a tri band phone and does not have the 850 band. There's lotsa
places on the Cingular system it will not work. A suggestion, get the V3I,
it's quad band.

Good Point, but I want a 3G phone so the V3x is the only option in a
RAZR. So two questions: What is a good Quad Band 3G phone, and still
my original question from the first post.

But UMTS is no good if the phone won't work.

Re: Possible upgrade from V3 to V3x
V3x runs at 2100mhz for 3G/UMTS
V3x for Cingular would be a waste of money and not work in places where
Cingular runs an 850 network. You couldn't even make a voice call.

Re: Possible upgrade from V3 to V3x
Ok now that everyone has put down the idea of the V3X....
Disregard the V3X and replace that with a Samsung ZX10..Same questions,
putting in my current SIM with unlim MediaNet. Will I get 3G speed and
Unlim Media-tethered to my laptop as I do now with my current slower
speeds?
