1- I'm getting text messages from "0000000000000" want me to call a US phone
number.
2- I get text messages from unknown users three to five times per hour.
I contacted Cingular-CS and they credited me the bad text messages.
But i was wondering what can i do to block messages?

Instead of directing the OP to the FAQ, John, why not post the answer to the
question here?

Instead of posting an off-topic noise comment, why not post the answer
to the question here yourself? Feel free to quote the FAQ if you need
to.
Answer to your question: Because what I did is more efficient for all
concerned, which is why I put so much effort into the FAQ. Instead of
wasting time on an off-topic noise comment, why not contribute to it?

Aren't flames against the charter.
My question to you was not, IMO, off-topic.
I have been debating answering you because of your record with others

They are indeed. Likewise off-topic meta-discussions.

It was a meta-discussion, which isn't on-topic.

If you want a different result, try a different approach.

If it's not off-topic then why did you say the following, and I quote
"Instead of posting an off-topic noise comment, why not post the answer
to the question here yourself? Feel free to quote the FAQ if you need
to"

You can get Cingular to disable text messages completely on your
phone. You can also go to www.cingularme.com and do some filtering on
email messages in case you want to get some message from certain
places but not all.
Unfortunately as I have followed the various discussions about this
problem there is really no perfect solution at this time. Other than
perhaps free incoming messges which many feel is the best answer.

No! That's not it! Kinda like what I'm sure happened to "Duffer2",
I too got some marketing crap from Cingular as a text message. I
DON'T WANT THIER MARKETING CRAP! I went to those various control
sites, and unless I missed something (always a distinct possibility)
there's NO WAY to turn off marketing crap from the vendor.

Incorrect- it is only more efficient for you and represents a very lazy and
unfriendly approach to posting.

No- you do that because you have no life.

1. The 'off-topc noise' was actually a legitimate observation.
2. Who would want to contribute to a troll like you?
3. Your FAQ is rife with misinformation and personal opinion, making it
even more suspect than your typical Wikipedia posting.

Re: Unwanted Text messages
As i was asking before! I want to filter unwanted text messages and receive
only for known sources like my company, brokerage account, friends and not
Cingular marketing or unknow senders!

Nothing new with John. Just read his responses to others. He only answers
the parts the help, IMO, HIS agenda.
He frequently violates his charter for a.c.c. John wants this to be
