    It's not just that either. I've had an SPN4716 for quite a while, and
    while it's great that it charges the phone faster (though it's less than
    proportional to the mA ratings), it's larger, with a much thicker cable,
    than the smaller charger that comes with the phone. It doesn't fit in
    with packing as light as possible.

    Since most of the time the phone is charged overnight anyway, the charge
    rate doesn't matter much. When traveling, the smaller charger is much
    more convenient, plus I'll take along a car charger as well.

    You've posted this on usenet, which is replicated in all countries worldwide. Don't assume that
    everyone who reads it cares what the marketing practices in your country are. There's a whole wide
    world out there.

    This group is specific to AT&T Wireless Service, now part of Cingular,
    which is located primarily in the USA. That this newsgroup propagates
    beyond the USA is interesting, but thus irrelevant.
