#1 | | Guest | Hey all,
For some reason, when I leave my Treo 650 alone for a bit, I come back to it
finding that it is trying to connect to the internet. I click on 'no.'
Nonetheless, several times a day, I wake my Treo up out of "sleep" mode only
to see it asking to connect to the Internet.
Why might this be?
And how can I stop it?
I'm about to switch off my unlimited data plan (too expensive) and I'm
concerned that my Treo is going to connect to the internet without my
wanting to. Furthermore, it's just plain annoying.
Thanks for the advice

You must have some application configured to check something regularly;
e.g., an email client that checks for new mail regularly.

#3 | | Guest | Don't believe I have any email clients set up... but I'll double check.
Any other ideas if that's not the case?
Thanks,
D

#4 | | Guest | Try copying your address book, any programs, and any files over to your pc.
Then to a complete clean wipe of the treo back to default new condition.
Then add your address book and programs back on.

#5 | | Guest | you were right. once i wiped out the account associated with Cingular's
XPress mail, it stopped doing that. i use hotmail and that's not compatible
with XPress mail, so i was fine taking it off. thanks!
