Can anybody tell me when Cingular will release the updated 8125...the 8525?

    See More: Cingular 8525?

    Re: Cingular 8525?

The 8125 was released early 06... I wouldn't expect to see the 8525
untill early 07.... I've noticed service providers like to phase in new
models yearly, so that would be logical.

I'm curious if there will be a 2525 to replace the 2125 in 2007. HTC
recently released a MTeoR which Cingular could easily base an update to
the 2125 on, benefits would be an additional 100Mhz on the CPU speed
and 3G support, still wouldn't bet on WiFi in anything from Cingular
    though.

Also wanted to add that I've read HTC (to be manufactuerer of the 8525)
is to expand their name brand in the US, selling direct to the public
and distributing HTC branded phones through service providers.... They
have already released the formentioned MTeoR and TyTN and in fact the
to-be Cingular 8525 looks identical to the already (USA) released HTC
TyTN Phone Edition, except the 8525 is set to be Cingular branded and
to have the digital camera placed on the back of the phone instead of
    the front.

If you want the 8525 today, do a search for HTC TyTN, they average
between $800-$900 US. Of course if you hold out for the 8525 you'll
likely save $200-300, or considerably more if you're planning to sign a
new contract and take advantage of promo discounts.

The TyTn has both a front camera and rear 2M rear camera, the front is used
if the provider supports video calling rumors have said Cingular will not
support video calling anytime soon therefore the front camera will be
    omitted from the 8525

I purchased my TyTn from a US retailer for $740 but as mentioned if you can
wait you should be able to save a couple of hundred on the Cingular branded
    one

I am considering making the same plunge, i.e. an unlocked TyTN; I hope
you don't mind me asking you a few questions about your new toy

    1) Where did you buy it? Would you buy from them agaqin?
    2) Are you using it with Cingular? Any issues?
    3) Are you happy with the phone?
    4) Are you in any of the areas where Cingular has rolled out the 3.5G
    network?
    5) any general comment swould be appreciated?

    Thanks in advance!
