That was my point also, apparently, some people believe the
phone is still capable of spying on you while it's RF
transmitter/receive is completely shut down. Somehow I doubt the phones
would get approval by the FCC (due to flight regulations etc...) if this
were the case. How is the thing supposedly transmitting the location
info without the radio being on? Maybe some people think their phone is
sleeping and recording location info that gets sent at next contact with
the towers. Just pull the battery off if you're that paranoid! Oooh,
but what about the secret backup battery they've hidden inside the thing
that you don't know about either? Riiiiiight! Well, just smash it with
a hammer, that should do.

Good question, I meant to cut all the groups out of my reply but
posted before I realized I had sent it. I think it had to do with
discussion of E911 on phones without service activation and a poster
that seemed to make some implied sweeping generalizations. I'll let you
go back and read between the lines on that one to decide for yourself,
but it's a can of worms that I'll leave shut, it's way off topic here.

But that won't stop the secret chip they implanted when you went into
the store, that transmits your location to the govt and your thoughts
to Bill Gates...you will have to find an underground surgeon to remove
that and smash it....make sure you get one not part of the System...
