Sounds like yer local store sucks. 1 reason I avoid them if I can.

I understand. Time cost hassles. But the store
sounds like scum, or at least, they don't care about
your future biz'ness. Sorry to hear it. I always dealt
DIRECT with Cingular, and my posting history of past shows
we were NOT always on the best of terms. But once I dealt
direct with people who could make changes..changes happened.

    Stores are another story.

Maybe being a customer over 6 years matters, maybe since I
can/will be a pain in the arse when I get pissed at C/S + up,
and I become a problem they want taken care of...but they take
care of the problem..not just shutting my mouth, but solving
the problem that opened it so loud n nasty. Service updates,
    billing charges removed, new hi-tech phones..free. I can't
ask for anything else, esp when all this SOLVES (so far) my
    reception problem..improved over 40%. I'm re-signing this Nov.

Don't know if my rant helps ya, but IMHO..yer store sucks ...

    Also see "http://www.wvrecord.com/news/newsview.asp?c=184636".

It's a class action lawsuit against Cingular for adding on "roadside
    assistance" at $2.99/month.

The carrier's know that many customers will forget to opt out later.

I have been part of class action lawsuits before and have benefited
    from the resulting settlements.

If you qualify to get involved in a class action lawsuit you will have
to wait longer to get your due, but since you'll have councel
representing you, you will probably win more in the settlement. unless
you are an attorney it's always better to join an class action than try
    to go at it alone.

The fact that there is a class action may also mean that Cingular has
been ignoring individual request for payment of damages.
