I have an unlocked T-Mobile Samsung X495 that I use on my Cingular account.
As a phone, it works fine.

I'd like to get MMS working. I can get into the relevant menus by dialing
*#VSWAP# and *#VSMMS# (these get into hidden menus on T-Mobile's firmware).

However, the menus do not quite match up with any information I can get
about how to configure for Cingular. (Cingular's web site and Navas Group's
web site have settings for a number of devices, none of which are too
    similar to this one.)

The settings available to me are:

    *#VSWAP#
Profile name -- presumably anything I want?
    Home URL -- http://device.home ?
    Proxy use -- Enable
    GPRS Setting:
    Proxy address -- 66.209.11.61
    Proxy port -- 9201
    APN -- wap.cingular ??
    Login ID -- [email protected]
    Password -- CINGULAR1

    *#VSMMS#
Profile name -- presumably anything I want?
    Server URL -- http://mmsc.cingular.com
    Proxy use -- Enable
    GPRS setting:
    Proxy address: 66.209.11.61
    Proxy port: 9201
    APN: wap.cingular ??
Login ID and password as above.
(These may actually be the same menu as above.)

The symptom is that the phone knows it has messages coming in but cannot
    retrieve them.

    What did I miss?

    Thanks!

Re: Adapting Cingular MMS, WAP settings to ex-T-Mobile phone

Actually, after putting in Cingular's settings for X497 (which fit the menus
exactly) I am still experiencing the same symptom, which is that the phone
tells me that messages have arrived, and displays the sender and subject
line, but cannot retrieve the message. Any ideas?
