It appears it might be related to the Connection Manager software. I
downloaded the Sierra
3G Watcher and CNN loads fine now, as well as Flash
based speed tests.
My tethered V557 connection was usually around 30 to 50 Kbps, with a rare
120 Kbps. The USB Aircard is pretty consistent at 170 to 190 Kbps,
depending on the server test location.
