Not even a nice try. You really are lame. Hopefully you'll grow up in
time, and stop making yourself look so childish and foolish.

No, your lame attempt at insults notwithstanding.

Guys- this is his life- I'd just let him have it. You can tell it means
a lot to him. He'll always try to get in the last word and will never
    admit he doesn't know something.

He does have the personal experience of getting this group started, but
only that. As mentioned before, there are a gazillion groups that seem
to sneak in under the radar back a few years.

I was hoping John would at least admit it (yes, even I'd like to see him
make good) and offer insight as to how they did it.

You have to admire his tenacity. He did keep this group alive
pre-iPhone, (even if only his charter and Motorola FAQ postings were the
    only posts).

BTW- just bought iPhone for my wife today (she's never been excited
about any phone until now). Apple store had plenty of 8s but (of course)
    no 4s.

Free shipping if you buy from Apple directly, so no worries.

I'll keep my Treo for a while longer (so I can get it unlocked for
    better resale).

That's the best you can do? Pretty lame, not worth further response.

Oh sure, give the wife the cheaper version <g>. (I shouldn't even joke: my
wife is likely to get my Treo 650, for which she will use it to make phone
    calls, SMS, and play solitaire.)

    >
    > I'll keep my Treo for a while longer (so I can get it unlocked for
    > better resale).

I still have my Treo 650 (didn't port my number as I was concerned about
at&t coverage where I live). So far I seem to be doing OK coverage-wise.
I've been testing call quality between the Treo and iPhone (wife got fed up
with that so I had to resort to leaving messages from both devices on our
home answering machine). Anyway it was surprising how much clearer the
messages from the iPhone were, compared to my Treo. Don't think it's Sprint
since I seem to have much better signal with Sprint. Maybe my Treo is just
getting old (it's had its share of falls and bumps--including one from my
motorcycle a week or so back).

The bad thing is that I have trouble looking at my Treo now. The keyboard
that I bragged so much about now seems tiny and cramped. Guess it's what you
are used to as when I was mainly using my Treo and just testing an iPhone I
thought *for sure* the iPhone's keyboard would be a major downgrade. YMMV.
