Four out for four CIOs agree: the iPhone is no match for the
Blackberry. Last night, at an event hosted by Silicon Valley's
tech-happy Churchill Club, four high-profile CIOs - representing
Google, Hasbro, Levi Strauss, and health care giant McKesson Corp -
were asked if they'd carry an iPhone for business purposes, and all
    four said "No."

Meanwhile, three of the four said they won't let their employees
carry Apple's latest status symbol - at least, not in an official
    business capacity.

Apparently, they understand the iPhone was neither designed nor intended
as a business tool. It's a product aimed squarely at the teenager.

The Motorola shill still Trolling against the iPhone.

    Blackberry.

It doesn't matter who Apple says they're competing with, what matters is
who the device's buyers think it's competing with.

The problem is when a bunch of relatively "important" managers bring
their shiny new toys to work and then the IT guys have to stick out their
necks and explain why they don't intend to toss their secure BES or
Exchange e-mail solutions out the window so the VP in charge of Corporate
Restroom Reading Materials (Northeastern Region) can get his corporate e-
mail on the iPhone's POP/IMAP client instead of his "stodgy" Blackberry!

Obviously this isn't Apple's fault- they never positioned the device as a
Blackberry killer- but it is and will be a problem in some organizations
where the bosses' fancies, rather than sound computing practices, control
    IT security.

You work in a Dilbert cubicle? Seriously. I run a design company. We got
our first one today after having played with it from any of our "early
    adopting" friends and clients.
Runs circles around BB in plain usability. You can see an entire web
page clearly. Messages look great. All we need now is the same coverage
    as BB.
    The benchmark has been raised.

How do you figure that? The benchmark should include coverage. I don't
    want a "sprinter", I need a 20 miler.

Apple learned from the Treo mistakes.

All them 3rd party apps, always causing it to lock up.
