Apple/AT&T News 2-15-08

AT&T had 16GB iPhone for $350 Wednesday morning with 2 YR contract. An
8 GB iPhone was $250. These were refurbished iPhones. AT&T sold out by
8:30 AM EDT.

AT&T sent out an 'urgent email' Wednesday limiting future sales of
iPhones to ONE PER CUSTOMER effective immediately. Why?

A 2009 iPhone is expected to download at 20Mbps on the AT&T HSPDA
network. AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega said that the company will
enable 100Mbps downloads in 2010 on the AT&T network.

These speeds are expected to be for optimal conditions.

There is a new setting for the 3G iPhone to turn on and off the 3G for
faster downloads. It is under the Network settings. Turning on 3G
kills the battery life according to this setting's text prompt.

There is a continuing rumor that AT&T Wireless Employees are not being
granted vacation for a period of time this summer.

A German working for Intel disclosed that there is a larger screen
version of the iPhone using the Intel Atom chip.

Make 'em drool and they'll pay anything.......it's a marketing ploy to
boost up saggin' sales without further embarrassing discounting.

How many you want, Vic. Our ATT store in Charleston has plenty of 'em.

Just one day after [ instituting a policy ] of one [ iPhone ] sale per
customer, [ AT&T ] said Thursday that it has discontinued the policy
both on its Web site and in its retail stores.

Customers will now be able to buy three iPhones per person, a limit
that the carrier enacted when the device first went on sale almost a
year ago. Apparently AT&T has decided that they do in fact have
enough inventory to leave the three phone per person limit in place.

“Our No. 1 concern is to make sure that every customer who wants
an iPhone gets one,” an AT&T spokesman said. “We thought yesterday
that the fairest way to do that was to limit customers to one iPhone.
Then we realized that we have sufficient inventory to go back to our
original policy.”

Who flip flops as much as AT&T?

Let's see- nobody buying one phone per person as opposed to nobody buying
three phones per person. Yep- they have plenty of inventory.
