How is the Cingular GSM coverage in the Chicago area? How about in the
suburbs? Like, western and northwestern suburbs. Kind of Downers Grove
area all the up to Palatine/Arlington Heights.

Is it true that Cingular has roaming agreements with AT&T and T-Mobile such
that anywhere Cingular doesn't have coverage, you get to roam for free on
    the other carriers' network?

Is there a minimum plan I'd have to sign up for in order to get the free
    rollover minutes?

It's as good or better than TDMA ever was, due in pert to the answer to your
    next question.

In the Chicago area, they have some sharing agreements, mostly with
T-Mobile, that allow you to not pay any roaming charges in the Super Home
area even when using antoher carriers tower. To get no roaming anywhere
there is GSM service, just go with the GSM Nation Plans. Not only does it
include ATT and T-Mobile, it also includes other GSM carriers where they
    exist.

Minimum package for rollover is 39.99 and higher. (Super Home or Nation, GSM
    or GAIT).

By the end of the year, look for 2 sets of rates from Cingular, GSM and
GAIT....both nationwide. Superhome, Home, both will disappear.

The map is on the cingular web site - if that coverage works for you the
plans are great - keep in mind that the GSM phones don't work in the no
    service areas
