I found this after searching for details on the "Bell Atlantic to
Verizon Communicaitons" name change I'm studying for an accounting
class. I was very surprised about this.
Let me know what you guys think.

Oh, yeah, for the Cingular people, it also names "Cellular One" and
Ameritech. Other companies named include:
Alltel
Centel
360 Degree Wireless
360 Degree Communications

Heh, I was a customer of GTE Wireless from 1993-2001 (2000-2001 as
Alltel) and of Verizon/New Par Cellular from 2000 on. Maybe I should look into
this.

A class-action lawsuit was apparently brought against various companies
because they weren't properly disclosing charges.

Re: Verizon's Settlement to Customers
No surprise at all. They won against Cingualr, now it's someone elses
turn. Verizon has not agreed to it yet.

Re: Verizon's Settlement to Customers
Steven,
Like you, I fall into three of those categories... 1998 w/360
Communications, 1999-2000 with Alltel, and 2001 to now with Verizon
Wireless.
I had heard nothing of this, so I'm glad that link was posted.

You may be too late. I downloaded the claim form, and found out that
your claim has to be submitted by December of 2002.

No big loss. I'm sure I would have gotten nothing more than a $10 or $20
coupon for accessories or something like that.
