There are now 7 regions available for your browsing pleasure. The
Southeast region (AR/LA/MS/AL/SC/GA/FL) just went online today. As
always, corrections and comments are welcome. (You don't need to
comment on the trade of FL/GA A-side markets from USCC to ATTWS.
We're well aware of this issue and will update the A-side map once the
two carriers reflect the change on their web sites.)
PS: Work on the Midatlantic maps (TN/NC/KY/VA/WV/MD/DE) has begun and
they should be available within a couple of weeks.

Awesome! I want to buy stock in Farmers Wireless. [GA/TENN, B-Side map.]
If they have managed to hold on to their territory for so long, they're the
type of underdog I root for!

This is another outstanding project that doesn't get enough
appreciation. This is very helpful information displayed in a very
understandable form. Many thanks, and congratulations on completing
another step in a huge project.

That mess in Texas had to be a hell of a project. I'll say ditto what Bill
wrote. Excellent work, and extremely interesting.

Agreed. PCS license maps for Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS are
already available on Andrew's site
(http://people.ku.edu/~cinema/wireless/main.html). As far as PCS
license maps for AT&TWS and T-Mobile, maybe one day, but we don't have
any definite plans for that right now. Also, one problem with PCS
license maps is that unlike cellular license maps they don't reflect
coverage at all. Just look at the Sprint PCS license map and then
look at the Sprint PCS coverage map. Enough said. Although I agree
that it's still a nice resource to have.

What a stupid website. Thanks for wasting my time. That thing looks
like something from AOL's hometown website server.

If I may butt in....
What is so stupid about that site?
I applaud him/them for doing all that work.
Yes, the layout isn't a Grammy award winner,
but it's simple and easy to navigate.
The point of the site is to present the information.
It does that very well.
I am eagerly waiting for the last two sections
to be filled in.
I myself have taken the time to graft the sections
into one complete map.
It's large but it allows me to see the whole layout
across the USA.
And I also thank them for keeping all the maps
the same scale, that makes it easy to graft
them together.

Re: new cellular license maps available online
Wouldn't it be just cool as hell if each of those regional maps,
divided by county or whatever, were clickable to a real coverage map
for that particular subdivision of area?.....(c;

That would be COOL! :-)
The best thing a person could do right now is
find the providers with half way reasonable depictions
of coverage area and super impose the image on the
maps.

Re: new cellular license maps available online
OK I really don't understand the maps, So please bare with me and help
thanks.
I live in FL and took a look at that area on the maps for 'B' side, it
shows central west cost as ALLTEL [yellow zone] I have Verizon as my
carrier with a LG VX4400 phone, so what does this map tell me? Am I
actually using alltel's network and not verizon's? or does this only
mean for analog [amps] service? The phone is a tri-mode phone, and is
usually always getting a 1x signal on it's display, I believe that
means PCS service.
Thanks is advnace for your help.
