There is at least one particular phone exchange in the 804 area code that
will not connect with a cingular phone. A recording is received that says
"the number can not be completed as dialed". I will work on other providers
and land lines. A visiting Cingular Tech the local store said that they
are aware of some spotty exchanges that they are having problems with.
Anyone else have this issue? Wondering how widespread it is. Still in my
return period. Otherwise, it's been great

    Re: Some Exchanges Not Connecting

I had this problem a couple years ago. When the 425 area code ( yes,
the whole area code) was introducted, Cingular didn't recognize it (
new area code) for 6 months. It was very frustrating. Calls to
everyone at Cingular and they still didn't do anything. It finally
    begain working.

So, if it is really important you call those numbers, I would tell
Cingular I was cancelling during my trial period because you can't
call your friends. That might get them to call the right person (
whoever that might be) to fix it. Otherwise you may wait for months -
    or longer.

Please send me a list of any such exchanges VIA E-MAIL and I'll see if I
can find a reason why. Thanks!

    Re: Some Exchanges Not Connecting

Funny, my landline carrier (Sprint/Centel-Virginia) used to do that to
us... I had to call and "request" access to new area codes when they were
rolled out. At least the operator would complete my call for me without
    any additional charges.
