I have a Siemens S56, and am now utterly confused by Cingular's data services.
I was told I can only have WAP or GPRS enabled. However, when I log onto
the internet with my phone it uses the WAP access number 1415241012 and when
I check the data counter I see no KB downloaded.

Now when I use my Ipaq to connect to the internet with bluetooth, it's using
GPRS, the counter updates KB's. So that means WAP and GPRS can co-exist,
    correct?

One more thing, I was told WAP comes off my day-time minutes no matter when
I use it! Could one of you enlighten me? I don't want to call Cingular and
have them screw up my account again.

I've had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS with CS over this same matter. I keep asking
them to activate my CSD, billed against my minutes. They say they will do
this (except for one tech support guy that said it was impossible under
GSM), they say they understand the difference between CSD and GPRS, they
assure me it will work. They keep activating GPRS, and THAT only works for
about 2 hours before going on the fritz, and it's not what I asked for
    anyway.

If you can get this cleared up, please post how you did it.

Yes they can co-exist. I have a T616 that I use both on. As far as the
minutes coming off daytime minutes, I am not 100% sure yet. According to
everyone on howardforums.com, night and weekend minutes are used during
nights and weekends, so essential it is free browsing. I have yet to recieve
my first bill since getting this phone and the service, but everyone there
(very reputable and knowledgable place) says if you have free nights and
weekends, it's free. Basically what I have been doing is using GPRS if I
need to use it during the day, and the CSD at night when it is supposedly
free to me. I should know here in about a week <wink>.

Go to the Navas Group website (google search). All the details are there -
I don't understand them but if you are more tech savvy you will!
