ever since I turned on gprs on my plan in western new york, i have had many
    problems connectiong.

repeated calls to cs reveals that gprs wasnt activated at the tower that i
was nearby, which would explain why i would only get a gprs signal while i
    was on cingular extend.

the data support group called me once, i guess they turned on the gprs in
the tower nearby, but then it stopped working.

some guy named steve from data support called today and guess what. my
portable phone was screwin up and all i was getting was static(i suspect
this was because i was running the microwave or something)
so now i am going to have to call cs once again, go through all the same
stuff to get to the data support group(unless i get a backdoor number, can
    anyone help me out?)

    this is unacceptable...

has anyone in the western new york area (like around rochester/14580) had
    trouble with grps?

    thanks

    andrew

just got off the phone with "scott" and he told me that it might actually be
a problem with my phone, so now i have to go to the cingular store, pop my
sim into another phone, and see if it works then. then give him a call. of
course it will work at the cingular store, it always works near the store.

    two questions.
1: if my phone is indeed faulty, will cingular replace it with the same
    model for free?(nokia 3595)
    2. since scott told me to put the sim in another phone, if i try it with
putting it in a 6340i(friend's phone) would it still work(it being a gait
    handset)

    thanks again

    andrew

    1. Depends on how long you have had it. The manufacturer's warranty is
some length, (a year?) and then if you have insurance (pay a
    deductible) after that.
    2. That will let you test making a GSM call. The Nokia 6340i doesn't
    have GPRS.
