Had my T610 updated at the Brussels SE center.
They said it would be done in half an hour. Went back an hour after dropping
    it there, phone was ready.

The changes I noticed after coming from R1A and going to R4C (yes C, not D)

The screensaver clock, the numbers are in another police/font

The animated screensaver is somewhat faster, not Z600 fast.
But some one said me to delete the file, and re-send it back to the
phone. My pc is broken at this time, will try that later.

SMS, the words come faster on screen. Fast enough for me, can't type faster.

After typing an sms, there is a new menu. "Contacts" is no longer a submenu
    of Phone number.

The words added to the dictionary have been erased by the update, all other
data is still there (contacts, settings, etc)

I have set my phone to receive emails. I didn't do that with the original
firmware. But comparing to my T68i, when you have to set the phone
number to dial, you cannot browse the contacts, on the T68i it was
possible. So you'll have to remember or write the number down.

The screen displays much faster what the camera is seeing. Before the screen
    refreshed very slowly.

    That's all for the moment.
Now it's an even better phone

You may find this post useful: http://forum.myt610.net/viewtopic.php?t=581.

It lists all changes in R3Cxxx and R4Cxxx.

There is one on the Anspachlaan dichtbij de beurs, Boulevard Anspach près de
    la bourse.
Another I know is on Place Stèphanie, between Av. Louise and Chée de
    Charleroi.
Third I know, but do not recommend, is MB Communication, Ninoofsesteenweg in
    Dilbeek.

Bummer....seems..the crowd in Sydney can't do it either !!!

Apparently they can do Firmware upgrades...from the standard SE....but not
    from the doomed Vodafone firmware..!!!

So I guess I'm stuck with the 3 colour icon for ever

You may need to send it back to the country of origin Mine is VLive!
branded & when I inquired about f/w upgrading, was told that didn't
matter by a SE service Centre in Langley, UK. I haven't got round to
having the f/w upgraded yet though.

I don't know exactly how the core f/w is upgraded, maybe they reload the
branding as well or perhaps the Ozzy centres were talking crap. Can you
not send it to an Ozzy dealer who can remove the branding for a fee 1st
or indeed have both done at the same time? There are certainly people
who do it in the UK but obviously can't also be SE SCs so won't do free
    upgrades.
