    Story:

summer 2001 (at least i think that): I bought one of the first T39. It was
such a cool phone. Everything in it. Triband, GPRS, Bluetooth, Organizer,
    perfect Speech quality....
xmas 2001: got car kit from santa...cool thing.....i was so overwhelmed - i
even installed an external antenna - it wasn't necessary since reception was
_very_ good. but there was this plug on the backside...
early spring 2002 - it fall down. i didn't notice. it was dark since it was
late. i walked away leaving it on the pavement. For some reason i had to
make a call. uh - it was missing. hasting all the way back....thank god - it
was there. small scratches on the display :-( but working.
summer 2002 it broke. no network bug :-(
2 days later i got a replacement from Ericsson. yeah. no sim lock. brand
    new.

at this time T68 was available. uh looked beautiful. same functionality....i
bought it and soled t39. big mistake...
t68 was cool. but reception is bad...was a nice toy...but no external
    antenna.... :-(

t610 arrived - yeah it seemed to be _my_ cell phone....bought it. sold
    t68...
big disappointment. almost impossible to make a call outside. speaker is too
    silent....reception even worse than t68.

    i want t39 back...no more available....discontinued...
looked at ebay...many phone all of them used and look ugly...i bought some
and sold them the day after again

1 week ago i found a non working t39 (no network bug) - in perfect
    condition. no scratches etc....
i bought a used and a torx as well. changed cover and own a t39 which looks
    like brand new....
i went outside walking along a busy street and can talk and _hear_
everything without beeing concentrated on it... i can talk 2 floors
underground - i think no other phone get a signal there....

i am happy with t39 - so if you have the chance, get a t39

it doesnt have a color display or mms, neither polyphonic stuff or java but
you can use it as a cell phone. another point is, your battery will hold
twice the time as on a t610...

    :-)

    Oliver

    [A beautiful story about T39]

I'm 100 percent with you. Glad I have my two T39s, both running
smoothly, one very slightly buggy: Freezes completely every few
weeks or so, but no real problem: Take out the battery, put in
again, switch on, and there you are.

From his e-mail address one can see that he is a student at Vienna
University, Austria. (I'm based in Vienna, too, but that's pure
    coincidence.)

Yes, I know this bugs from my first phone but that's no problem since it
    isn't every day...

    Re: T39 or ?

I also have a T39 from september 2001 & I'm very satisfied with it. The only
problem would be the SAR which is quite high (~1W/kg) compared to T68i
(0,38). Sometimes my head gets hot ... I tried a HBH-35 bluetooth headset
but I didn't find the quality good so I gave it back. My battery is also
getting weak & I think it'll be easier (and not really more expensive) to
buy a brand new phone rather than to find a new battery ...

Hum.... you can find very easily new batteries for T39/R320/R520 (they
are the same), in the range of 10-20 $/€/£... depending on the capacity
    and weight you choose.
