can i turn off incoming SMS? - T610

I have a T610....i want to to prevent people from sending SMS to me, since
this will be added to my bill.
Can i do this and how?

Speak to your telephone operator... They are the only one who can assist
I believe.

I've never heard of being charged for receiving an sms (except for some
"premium" services) ... what operator is that?

Bar incoming SMS messages
Set: *35*barring code*16#[SEND]
Cancel: #35*barring code*16#[SEND]

You'll ned to contact your provider for the barring code I suspect...

huh...In most places, the SMS sender is charged for it, not the
recipient.

i most normal countries yes...
not in the US (maybe just T-Mobile)
