Someone in the US is offering me an R380e which I gather was used on the
T-Mobile net over there (I am in UK) - the phone spec reads: dual band
EGSM900/GSM1800 and software is version: Phone: 010221 1240 cxc112181 R1B05
Organizer 010228 1601 cxc112191/1 R4a02.
I do not know whether it will be capable of accepting my )2 SIM and
operating on UK network (in the same way that a current UK T-Mobile/Orange
GSM phone will not work on O2/Vodafone)
ideas?

Should be no problem the e stands for European. 900/1800 are Not in
use in North America. The only question is, is it locked? Be careful
if it was an AT&T 'loaner'. (AT&T used to offer 'plastic' roaming for
their IS-136 (D-AMPS) users.

I don't think so. Since the previous model of the R380e wich was
900/1800 MHz too was called R380s. I guess the e stands for
'extended'.
