Can this handset play MP3 music files?
If so how, as I cannot get the files to load into the handset.

Yes.

Choose a method to copy them onto it, copy them onto it, play them with
Media Player.

Some telco's branding of the phone include a "only play mp3s with DRM
in them because we want the punter to only buy mp3s from our online
service and this might encourage it". eg, Vodafone in .au apparently do
it. Just put your own blank DRM info in and the phone plays them fine.
