make them network free. Im aware there are several ways of doing this,
however what i intend is for people to send there phones to me to unlock.
    What software do i need?

As you're planning on doing this as a business, there's a few things you
    need to be aware of.

    1. The market is already pretty saturated in the UK and many established
unlockers are struggling to make ends meet in a very competitive market.
    2. You'll need to invest in some decent equipment. Although there are free
methods for unlocking some phones, you'll find that most people will try
them first, botch the job up and turn to you to fix what they've done.
    3. This is a market that's hard to get established in. You're expecting
people to send their expensive handsets to you and trusting that you won't
damage them, and that you'll actually return them. It's hard work building
that trust - at least at first.

If none of the above puts you off, as a minimum you'll need to invest in
some or all of the following equipment:-

Twister/UFS with Hardware Key (for Nokia, Ericsson, SonyEricsson, LG,
Samsung, some Siemens & some Motorola).
    Cruiser (mainly SonyEricsson)
    SmartClip (Motorola).

To get some idea of the costs involved take a look at the GSM-Solutions link
    in my sig.

Oh yes, one final thing. Whatever equipment you buy, make sure you buy it
from an authorised distributor - if you cut corners to save a few quid you
could well end up being left with no support.

I just hope someone starts this service in Australia. Is there anyone
currently doing this in Australia? I can't seem to find a SonyEricsson
    unlocker downunder.

Appreciate any tips that people may have.
