hi everyone, i have a sony ericsson t610 phone that i no longer use,
but would like to still use it as a watch and alarm clock. but of
course without a sim card, every time i turn it on it asks me to put in
a sim card first... is there any way to bypass this check? i've looked
a bit online and every page i can find seems to talk about unlocking a
phone to use it with other carriers, which don't quite apply to my
question as i would still need another active sim card...
any help is greatly appreciated!

Buy an expired or unregistered SIM card of the carrier that the phone is
locked to. You can find plenty on eBay.

Who is your operator? You should be able to buy a PAYG sim card for under a
fiver that will solve your problem.
