Hi all,
I have read before some of you experiencing problems sending email from the
P800. I too have the problem of being able to receive but not send, with a
message stating the email address has invalid characters. Has anyone been
able to fix this problem as my email address entries are all correct?
Thanks in advance

Re: Sending email from P800 problem
I had this problem and think it was because my ISP required me to be logged
on to be able to use their outgoing email SMTP server. Because I was using
GPRS I couldn't be logged onto my normal ISP.
I registered with a different email service (vizzavi) that didn't have this
requirement and everything worked just fine after that.

Hi all,
For those of you unsure about the e-mail settings for your P800 they
are as follows:
For incoming messages use you normal isp mailbox, i.e. [email protected]
(e.g. [email protected])
For outgoing messages using an SMTP server you will need to set this to your
mobile phone providers SMTP server if they have one, i.e. For Orange mobile
users this would be smtp.orange.com (or similar if memory serves me
correctly)
Without the settings as above you will have very little success sending
emails as most ISP's lock the outgoing servers down to accept connections
only from people who have a direct connection to them.
