On the T68i, I saw this symbol just above the reception meter. I had 3 bars
and above them there was something that looked like a blue upside-down stair
case. you can just about see it on these two phones:
    http://www.telefonino.net/news/images/6207_01.jpg
What dose it mean? in the book it says I can't receive any incoming calls,
    but why?
    Thanx

It signifies the strength of the GPRS signal. A full "staircase" is full
    strength.

That means that you are living in GPRSland! If your account is GPRS-enabled
then you can take advantage of the services offered therein.

thanx, I thought it had some thing to do with GPRS but orange have got
misprints in their manual. Can you use GPRS if it's empty (just a blue L
    shape) ? thanx

No, the indicator has to be a solid triangle for GPRS to work. Have you
contacted Orange data support on 156 (in the UK) and asked for GPRS to be
    provisioned on your account?

And unless you actually use GPRS, it's an unnecessary drain on the
    battery.

I don't think the load of lighting up 40 additional pixels is going to be
    noticeable.

Were you mistaking Bluetooth for GPRS?

Don't you think it's more than just 40 pixels on your screen?

When not in use, no. Do you?

How much do you think the standby time is reduced by using a GPRS enabled
SIM as opposed to one that isn't?

Well, there must be a bit of extra signalling going on in the background
which would reduce standby/talktime a bit. I could not comment on how much
difference this would make in real life.
