    Hi,

Does anyone else experience problems with GPRS & MMS on O2 online?
I have the P800 and find the GPRS/MMS service very hit and miss, mainly miss
in fact. I have downloaded the settings from O2 online and it will work
sometimes but then fails again. Find that WAP is much more reliable. Anybody
got any different settings than the O2 online website?

PS. I have emailed O2 several times but for some reason they never answer
    the emails on this subject.

Snap! Do you have GPRS WAP or GPRS Internet enabled?

I thought GPRS Internet and MMS were mutually exclusive on O2? That's what
my contract SP (CPW) and the O2 data line told me. Was a couple of months
    ago though.

    Gavin,

I set my default service to WAP, GPRS etc as required. I find GPRS so
unreliable that I keep the WAP settings as default most of the time.
I rang O2 again yesterday, they said a setting on my GPRS account was barred
and would sort it out. I logged on using the INTERNET program on my P800
last night and it worked. I then tried sending an MMS message and I got the
    USER BARRED message every time.
They gave me the number of the GPRS/MMS team so I'll try them but I'll get
them to ring back. This 50p per minute is a rip off when the problem is
    theirs.

i also had these problems with my p800, so i went into an o2 highstreet
shop, and asked them to help, knowing that they wouldn't know wtf to do they
phoned the help line (costing me nothing) and then when things got to
technical, the sales guy let me speek to the expert. after about 40 minutes
on the phone, we got it resolved, i ended up having to input all the
settings manualy. it now works fine though

You ignorant ****wit, you dont go into a Ford garage and ask the sales guy
how the electronic ignition works. duh you read the manual guess thats too
difficult spose you could ring the help line oh sorry no you are too cheap
to ring the online help line 50p a min, while i admit the help line is
expensive did you really expect something for nothing you get what you pay
for, You thought i know why pay the high street prices when i can go online
and get it cheaper then i can go into the local O2 shop and get their
support instead, You where lucky to get help with that attitude i would have
    said **** Off !!!!!!

sounds like someone has issues. 1st off, there was no instructions on how
to set it up the internet onto the o2 network as i got the phone free
from a business meeting with ericsson, and as i have been with o2 for
many years now and know most of the people in my o2 high street shop i
didn't think it was cheeky at all, exp when previous attempts to speak to
the help line from my phone have taken a long time to get through and are
normally fruitless (those sms updates they seem to love so much don't
    work)
and where did i ever say i treated them with any other attitude then i
would treat anyone else, i happen to be a very polite person

Re: P800 on O2 online, GPRS & MMS

I work for O2 and get xtremely annoyed at anyone who cannot be bothered to
do a little research 30 seconds on google and hey presto
http://www.filesaveas.com/p800connect.html i know its not O2 but the
principle is the same. Lucky git you must be quite important for ericsson to
give £500 of equipment free....... but still remains the fact you still feel
its ok to go into a O2 shop when its an online Sim, and your previous
    quote...............

<cut & paste> "and asked them to help, knowing that they wouldn't know wtf
to do they phoned the help line (costing me nothing) and then when things
got to technical, the sales guy let me speek to the expert."

is bloody cheeky, if you wanted the best customer service you should have
bought the sim from a retail shop. I advise All customers purchasing the O2
online sim that while it seems like a great deal if you get any hitches O2
online can be extremely difficult to get good service and the 50p a min
helpline and email is the only means of contact.
And as far as attitude is concerned see above quote!!.
