From a SE service centre. Call 0870 5 237 237 for your nearest.

If your phone is less than 12 months old, yes.

No.
The handset can only be upgraded at a SE service centre. It's not like a
Nokia.
You can either take your handset along to one of said centres where they'll
upgrade the firmware for you for free if your handset is less than 12 months
old, or for a fee if it is more than 12 months old.
Alternatively, you can send it away to their service centre in Telford
(Celestica) where they will upgrade it on the same terms. Can take up to two
weeks to turn them around.
(Don't think I've missed anything out this time.....)

I phoned the number to get my nearest centre, but they also said:
a) it's not free, even in the first 12 months, unless it's faulty
b) because it's an Orange-branded T610 it would need to be sent to the
Advanced Repair Centre to get done
c) they gave me a number for some Orange department (01952 number) who could
tell me the cost.
Never mind then!
