I'm considering upgrading my Motorola T720 to a SE T616, for a
couple of reasons, mostly due to the extremely quiet polyphonic
ringer. In you guys' experience, is the ringer on the 616
sufficiently loud? One of the other problems is the vibrate motor
is fairly weak, so I'm hoping the 616 is a little more powerful.
And on a pretty picky note combining the two, on my Moto, the
simultaneous ring/vib function isn't simultaneous at all, it
vibrates, then rings. With the 616, can you make it do both at
the same time?
TIA,

The T610 isn't without it's problems. It goes on sort of a "increasing ring"
even when not turned on. As with all polyphonic ringtone phones the volume
is greatly dependent on the actual tone. The digirain one included is rather
loud.
In terms of the strength of the vibrate it's ok.
Sorry I have no experience of motorola phones so can't draw any comparisons.
I think overall the T610 is a nice phone although you could wait for the
Z600 (I think?!) which is basically a flip version of the T610 with a better
screen.

Yes, the handset does ring/vibrate simutaneously if you want it too.
Watch for the weak vibrate though - the SE 61* is the worst I have
experienced yet!! Not too sure how it compares to your Moto though.....

& much louder according to one review due to its clamshell design which
also mentioned the RF performance was better, not that I noticed it to
be mediocre on my T610.
The increasing ring tone as standard is possibly a safety feature but
overdone as the 1st ring is a soft tone anyway, whatever or how loud the
following ring signal happens to be & the voice dial prompt doesn't burn
your ear like my T39 does. The keypad on the Z600 is far roomier &
generally more Motorola like - just too thick for my taste:

The UI on either SE phone is superb IMO but neither have enough general
memory capacity.
