Re: P900 - Best UK Price
At the moment O2 (is it really so bad?) do a free P900 when you sign up to
400min + 50 SMS contract. You can drop down after 3 months.
I did that (unfortunately moving from Orange ... I know, flame me if you
want, I' not proud) and am happily playing with P900 which is _far_ nicer
than my SPV, which developed a habit of intermittently, but too frequently
freezing in the small hours and failing to e.g. wake me up or reminding me
about papers which I was supposed to take to work on the day.
Orange do not recognise this as a fault, but a feature (some feature!), and
were not happy to upgrade me (or my phone even, although I should think
about upgrading myself too) for less than £199.95, so hey ... here I am with
O2.
Customer promiscuity it is called I believe. Signum temporis too.
Best wishes and thanks to all for the informative group which I've followed
in recent weeks with abated breath.

They refer to the natural loss of customers as "churn".
Bizarre that the don't care about keeping their customers don't you think.
Must be making too much money out of us for it to be a problem.

Possibly. They seem to be a bit inconsistent with their upgrade/new contract
policy. I can see how they can be torn between higher gain from fewer
customers and lower - from larger customer base.
In the other post I forgot to mention one thing: unlike the Orange phones I
had in the past, the O2 P900 is not branded and it is unlocked. I rather
like this, as I have some foreign SIMs for use abroad (MUCH cheaper,
especially for use in Italy, even with Orange's relatively better pricing
than most other UK networks).
Have a good weekend, everybody.

you don't need to stay on that contract for a year, you can drop down after
3 months to a more affordable one. But I see the post later on re 02 which
looks good, or just wait until early next year. I still have a few months to
go on my contract anyway.

Re: P900 - Best UK Price
I just got a p900 from an 02 shop.
Of contract £599 too expensive!
But...
The shop assistant advised me to get on on contract then cancel after a year
as follows
3 months on 02 400 tariff £45 per month Get a p900 for free
9 months on £15/month tariff
compulsory silver insurance £45/year
Total £315!!!
the first 3 months per month you get 400 anytime xnetwork minutes with 400
free messaging points (1pt per sms 4 pts per mms)
then switch to chepeset tariff with 200 off peak minutes.
I hadn't even considered this Bargain!!
