There are a couple of things I'd like to ask about my new T610. If anyone
has an answer to any or all of my questions, I'll be eternally grateful

    1. Has anyone had problems with the phone switching itself off when using
GPRS? Mine has done it 5 times in the week I've had it.

    2. Does anyone know of a Java web browser (real web, not WAP) I can
    download?

    3. Is there a version of Snake 2 I can download (it's the only thing I miss
    about my old Nokia)?

    4. Is there any way I can use my T610 as a webcam, via either IR or
    Bluetooth?

The phone can't take time-lapse photos on its own, maybe it could be done
with a 3rd-party program, so no, currently that is not possible... Even if
it could, you'd need a program on your computer accessing the camera through
the bluetooth interface somehow and download a picture and then delete it,
and I'm not sure that is possible. There doesn't seem to be a proper search
path to files stored on the phone. You'd also have to constantly run the
phone off the power adaptor, since the camera draws power like a
    sonuva*****...

In any case, it would be slow, cumbersome and eventually you'd wear out the
phone's flash memory by writing new pictures to it all the time. Get a real
    webcam.

    Not me

This isn't possible, SE's java implementation doesn't support the sockets
required. This is much discussed at the www.esato.com forums.

There's a number of snake clones available. As to whether any of these
    closely resemble Snake 2 i don't know.

No. The camera only takes pictures on the phone and uses the screen as a
view finder. This *might* be possible with say the p900 or the nokia 6600
with some specially written software but I doubt it and I don't think it has
much of a practical use TBH, a webcam can be had for £25 or less and will be
better quality than the t610 camera. However, if you *need* this sort of
functionality on the go get one of them sony vaio laptops with all the works
    and the camera built in.

    Re: couple of T610 questions

Thanks for the help guys. I thought I was a bit optimistic in the webcam
    question.
ReqWireless Webviewer for Java phones rocks! I haven't paid the $19.99
registration yet (you get 10 days free), but I definitely will. It knocks
    WAP into a cocked hat.
I dread to think what my GPRS fee will be on my next statement though.
Seems the switching off during WAP sessions thing was a fault with my
handset. The Link swapped it over and the new one has not done it once.
    Thanks again,
    Nom
