P900 and P800 compatibility

I am looking at getting the P900 as an update to my P800 but one quick
question. How compatibile is it? Will P800 software run on it?

I installed all my P800 applications on my P900. So far, they all work. The
only issue I have run across is that some applications are tied to the
phone's IMEI number and a the new IMEI number needs to be registered with
the software vendor. No big issue, just some extra hassle. My applications
are C++ and pJava (no AppForge applications).

SE support told me that:

1°) It's a bad idea to make a backup from the P800 and to restore it on the
P900 since the file structure
is rather different between both devices;
2°) No problem to transfer P800 appz on the P900; it's easier if the
programs are stored on the Memory Stick Duo.
3°) Make synchronization of your Contacts/Calendars/E-mail... between your
PC mail program (e.g. Outlook) and your P900
by USB connexion, Bluetooth, infrared... Or between P800 and P900,
same techniques.

The new PC Suite 2.0.1 works well for both the P800 and P900. I've the TDK
Bluetooth USB Adaptor
including wizards for Nokia 7650 and P800, but it runs also very well for
the P900.
